| Ben Mickler - Director of Salon Services Ben Mickler, a senior-level Master Hairstylist joined Gates of Pearl on December 2, 2008 to lead our already accomplished team of designers and stylists in our salon. Ben brings nearly 20 years of experience as a stylist and is currently a national educator with Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Care Products and also works with Champion Beauty Supply as a local and state level educator. Ben brings his extensive experiences to us in order to grow and continually develop our awesome group of stylists. Ben is also an accomplished musician and plays drums for De’Ja Blue Band of Birmingham and at Mountain Top Church. | Al Cohn, M.D. - Medical Director Gates of Pearl welcomes Al Cohn, M.D.as our Medical Director effective immediately. Dr. Cohn is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has an active private plastic surgical practice based out of Brookwood Hospital affiliated with the Norwood Clinic and performs surgery at various locations throughout the city. Dr. Cohn completed college and medical school at Duke University and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, respectively. He then completed a combined general surgery and plastic surgery residency at University of Chicago and was selected to receive additional sub-specialty training in breast reconstruction and advanced aesthetic/cosmetic surgery under the tutelage of local mentor and friend, Dr. James Grotting. Dr. Cohn has joined Gates of Pearl as our Medical Director and will be over-seeing our new business ventures into Medi-spa services.
